Victorious was set up in 2012 by a group of Southsea bar owners. The first venue was Portsmouth Dockyard, but as the number of festival-goers grew, along with the festival's stature, a new site bordering the English Channel in Southsea was found.

The festival takes place over the August Bank Holiday weekend, making it an ideal get away from work, with friends or with the family. It also gives you some time to recover!

The setting of this festival is a sight to behold, with enormous ships gliding in right behind the main stage, offering an exciting backdrop to what is already a vibrant festival.

The music on offer at Victorious has been consistently impressive, with many big names performing over the weekend, and a stellar lineup for 2019.

The festival arena itself is quite large, with an impressive range of food stalls with cuisine from all around the world. There are many bars, so no need to queue for long!

We were really impressed with the range of entertainment on offer for kids and the amount of space dedicated to this, meaning that there was no overcrowding. Particularly impressive was the kids' main stage with some wonderful performances to keep the little ones happy. A particular little person crowd-pleaser in 2016 was CBeebeies' Cook and Line. And of course, happy kids make for happy adults!

What we love about this festival

The kids' area is first class and we can assure you that your little ones will enjoy this festival as much as you do. Also, we can't emphasise the remarkable location of this festival enough; it really is surreal watching huge passenger ferries skim past the revelling crowds.

Camping and Glamping Options

Camping accommodation has been offered for the first time in 2017- with tents only permitted - at a site 8 miles away. A free shuttle bus will run festival-goers direct to the venue every 25 minutes. Southsea and Portsmouth have a very good range of B&Bs and hotels on offer.

Past lineups

Madness, Stereophonics, Elbow, Franz Ferdinand, Jake Bugg, Feeder, Slaves, Shy FX + Stamina MC, Turin Brakes, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Will Joseph Cook, Slow Readers Club, Dan Caplan, Matt Wills, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, The Manic Street Preachers, Mark Ronson, Travis, The Coral, Levellers, Editors, Ash, Boomtown Rats, The Flaming Lips, Ray Davies, Basement Jaxx, Primal Scream, The Darkness, Dizzie Rascal, Razorlight, Ocean Colour Scene, Tom Odell, Level 42, Maximo Park, Reef.

Kids and families

This is a cracking family festival; we can assure you that your children will not get bored in the kids' arena. There is also very good provision for toddlers and babies with lots of smaller attractions and rides and a bottle-warming and breast-feeding tent.

A touch of luxury

You could try one of the local luxury hotels and take pleasure in the fact that, after a day and night of partying, you have somewhere posh to kick off your boots and relax!
