Victorious was set up in 2012 by a group of Southsea bar owners. The first venue was Portsmouth Dockyard, but as the number of festival-goers grew, along with the festival's stature, a new site bordering the English Channel in Southsea was found.
The festival takes place over the August Bank Holiday weekend, making it an ideal get away from work, with friends or with the family. It also gives you some time to recover!
The setting of this festival is a sight to behold, with enormous ships gliding in right behind the main stage, offering an exciting backdrop to what is already a vibrant festival.
The music on offer at Victorious has been consistently impressive, with many big names performing over the weekend, and a stellar lineup for 2019.
The festival arena itself is quite large, with an impressive range of food stalls with cuisine from all around the world. There are many bars, so no need to queue for long!
We were really impressed with the range of entertainment on offer for kids and the amount of space dedicated to this, meaning that there was no overcrowding. Particularly impressive was the kids' main stage with some wonderful performances to keep the little ones happy. A particular little person crowd-pleaser in 2016 was CBeebeies' Cook and Line. And of course, happy kids make for happy adults!
