The Vicar's Picnic
If you're looking for a small, family friendly, yet still uber-cool festival, then look no further than the Vicar's Picnic in the beautiful village of Yalding, in Kent. "Picnickers" can enjoy a magnificently picturesque setting with all the comfort, ease and soul associated with smaller festivals. This isn't to say that the bands are equally as small in stature; the headliners in 2016 were the amazing Reef and festival-goers enjoyed an acoustic set by John Power from Cast. And the organisers haven't disappointed for 2017, with Glaswegian indie rockers, The Fratellis, filling the headline spot on Saturday night.
This truly is a perfect example of how smaller festivals can often have more spirit, atmosphere and a shared sense of enjoyment. It's also perfect for kids and small enough for parents to be able to relax, as the walk from your tent or campervan to the main stage only takes about thirty seconds! Kids are well catered for in terms of entertainment, too. The Vicar’s Picnic team believes in the idea that if the kids are fully entertained in a fun, yet safe environment – particularly where the majority of entertainment is free – it provides the best way for the parents to relax.
The price is also attractive and an unforgettable weekend watching fantastic live music and experiencing all that is great about music festivals won't break the bank.
