Vicar's Picnic Primary Schools Art Competition underway

Festival Paradise is delighted to, once again, work with the organisers of the wonderful Vicar's Picnic festival in Yalding, Kent. We have invited Kent primary schools to participate in an art competition, with the coveted prize of family tickets to the festival for the top three entries.

Last year's competition winner can be seen above; a striking depiction of the picturesque backdrop to this intimate festival in the heart of the Kent countryside. The lucky winner, from Senacre Wood Primary School, along with two runners-up, received weekend tickets to the 2017 edition of the festival, as well as having their artwork showcased at the entrance to the festival. Here is one of the winners standing proudly by her wonderful drawing of a hare:

Last year's competition theme reflected the rural setting of the Vicar's Picnic and children were asked to create artwork based on a number of key words relating to the nature surrounding the festival. The entries were beautiful! This year is all about "Rock Art": music, instruments, notes, friendship, rock n' roll, screaming fans and noise. The entries are flooding in and we know that this year, it will be more difficult than ever to choose the winners. We have already received over 250 pieces of artwork and it has put huge smiles on our faces looking through the them; it's amazing to see such talent and heart-warming to see how much kids love festivals!

A big thank you to all the schools across Kent participating this year. We will be in touch over the coming weeks with details of the winners from your school and of the overall winners. Remember that there will be a gallery of the winners at the festival (with a few extra favourites added, no doubt!)

Tickets are on sale now at but hurry, they are selling fast!
