The Great Estate's inaugural edition is nearly upon us!

Some of the Festival Paradise team will be heading to the prestigious Scorrier House in Cornwall, in just over two and a half weeks, for the first ever edition of The Great Estate. This exciting new festival looks set to offer a much more refined experience - a far cry from the stereotypical images of mud-caked festival-goers. So if you have always fancied the exhilarating experience of going to a music festival but want to also want a little bit of luxury and sophistication added, then The Great Estate will be the perfect festival for you. With a BBC Introducing Stage, Classical Corner, Wild Wine Club, Dead Beats Poetry Corner, Comedy Stage and headliners Echo and the Bunnymen, Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show and The Electric Swing Circus, The Great Estate is set to be one of the most anticipated events in the Cornish calendar.

Once there, we'll certainly be heading to the Secret Gin Garden where The Great Estate’s Classical Corner is nestled. Here, we're promised to be met with an air of sophistication, with a string of talented acts - Arcadia 78rpm Orchestra, Classic Strings Duo, The Blue Angels, Andy Marshall, Rachel Williams, Alex Govier and many more - easing us into the festival experience.

We certainly won't want to miss the Comedy Stage where Newquay-based comedian, MJ Walker will headline on Friday 2nd June and Saturday 3rd June will play host to George Rigden, one of the most hotly-tipped new acts on the UK comedy circuit. Joining them onstage will be Nick Banks, Frankie Doré, Tom Latimer, David Arnold, Sami Stone, Lulu Popplewell, Graham Wilkes and Claire Rowley.

If we fancy some quiet time and creativity, we'll head to Dead Beats Poetry Corner where guest speaker Sue Kittow, author of Walks in the Footsteps of Poldark, will be sharing her experiences and most notable influences. Sue will be joined by a selection of other writers to answer questions and offer advice.

For wow-factor entertainment we'll be sure not to miss showgirl Talulah Blue in Madame Wong’s House of Wrong. Forgotten Circus will join Talulah Blue onstage for a weekend of aerial displays and unforgettable acts. Also, we are certainly pleased to hear that Wild Wine Club will be at The Great Estate to host a candle lit, long table banquet in a derelict horse shed, hidden within the Scorrier grounds. Guests will be treated to a three course Sicilian feast with wine pairings. Sommelier Debbie Warner and her guest chefs will undoubtedly add a touch of luxury to the festival weekend.

We are sure to spend hours at The Playground with our kids - we can't wait to see what is on offer here and neither can they! Finally, we'll be able to relax and unwind after all this entertainment in The Sanctuary with a soothing massage. Mmmm, can't wait!
