If you're looking for a small, family friendly, yet still uber-cool festival, then look no further than The Vicar's Picnic in a beautiful village called Yalding, in Kent. "Picnickers" can enjoy a magnificently picturesque setting with all the comfort, ease and soul associated with smaller festivals. This isn't to say that the bands are equal in size or stature; the headliners in 2016 were the amazing Reef and The La's performed a freat acoustic set.
This truly is a perfect example of how smaller festivals can often have more spirit and atmosphere and a shared sense of enjoyment. It's perfect for kids and small enough for parents to be able to relax as it's only a 30 second walk from your tent or campervan to the main stage. There's also loads for kids; various arts and crafts tents and even an inflatable laser-quest.
The price is also attractive and an awesome weekend watching quality live music and experiencing all that is great about music festivals won't break the bank, like some of the larger events. Keep checking this site for news about The Vicar's Picnic 2017. We'll certainly be heading back.
