2019 will see the 14th edition of this hugely successful Kendal Calling. This totally independent festival boasts great line ups, a dreamy Lake District setting and a wonderful "away from it all" atmosphere. And, although the headliners are becoming more impressive year on year, this family friendly music festival certainly manages to retain its independent and non-commercial feel.

The many different areas include a range of eight music stages, a cinema, food, clothing and gift markets,  a kid's arena  - Kids Calling, and a Garden of Eden pamper area.

Each year has a theme - 2016's was "Carnival of Colour"  - and the whole festival site is immersed in this. Seeing really is believing when it comes to the transformation of the festival site, along with works from independent artists, which can be found in every corner.

Kendal Calling was awarded the Best Medium Size Festival Award at the 2016 UK Festival Awards and it even received a Best Toilets award in 2015!

What we love about this festival.

There is just so much to do at this festival and something for everyone.  The intimate finishing touches can be experienced everywhere. We love the fact that, compared to other similar sized festivals, the walk from the drop off point to the campsite is not too  long and the stages are quite close together in the arena.

Camping and Glamping Options

The 4 campsite areas are adjacent to the arena. There is the traditional festival camping area, where you can party loud and late. The Emperor's Field area gives you a few more comforts and is ideal for those wanting a more refined experience and for families. There is also a campervan field. You could even pay £32.50 to upgrade to Club Class camping and use the luxury showers, loos and pamper area.  The Deer Lodge offers affordable luxury camping with bell tents, yurts and tipis - why not treat yourself?!

Kids and families

The dedicated Kids Calling area for your little ones, shows how family friendly this festival is. There is an abundance of entertainment aimed at families from the carnival, family cinema, workshops, games areas, creative performances, TV character appearances to a book area where children can have some quiet time to read or to listen to the story-tellers. What more could you want to make sure your kids have just a great time as you?

A touch of luxury

We think that Kendal Calling has one of the best selections of glamping options on offer at a UK music festival. And, with a dedicated spa area to boot, this festival is for you if you want to rock and repose all in one weekend. The "Garden of Eden" area offers one hour body massages, yoga classes and even a hair salon so that you can have some "me time"!
