If you're into rock and heavy metal then this festival is for you. Download has five stages, all heaving with legendary acts in abundance. Some of the biggest and best names in rock are guaranteed each year. The festival has taken place since 2003 and it now even has its own mascot, "The Download Dog". The massive names speak for themselves but everyone also talks of the great atmosphere this festival has; you'll have as much fun checking out the crowd's festival gear and chatting to other revelers about what bands they have seen or where they got their outfits from as you will listing to the music.

This event has been described as the annual pilgrimage for dedicated rock and metal fans, but even if you think this doesn't exactly apply to you, we'd urge you to give it a go as it's one of those festivals where you'll love the experience!

What we love about this festival.

We're here to rock! This is where you come if you want to truly understand what this expression means. We like the fact that the organisers are generous enough to offer a money saving loyalty scheme to regular customers and that they realise that even the most hardened rocker likes nice lavs - the loos here are pretty good and kept clean the whole weekend.

Camping and Glamping Options

RIP! (Rest in Peace!) is where you head to for glamping up your stay. It offers yurts, bell tents, proper toilets and warm showers. There is also the option here of parking your car next to your tent. The main campsite is a fair distance from the drop off point, so a big ruck sack is strongly recommended.

Past lineups

Rammstein, Korn, Black Sabbath, Deftones, Iron Maiden and Megadeath, Metalica, Linkin Park, Peaches, Pennywise, Electric Six, Biffy Clyro, Slipknot, Lostprophets, Feeder, Billy Idol, Napalm Death, Black Sabbath, Reuben, Motorhead, Guns N' Roses, The Prodigy, My Chemical Romance, Motley Crue, KISS, Faith No More, Def Leppard, Rage Against The Machine, Pendulum, The Hives, Staus Quo, Muse and Marilyn Manson
