What we love about this festival.

The range of workshops on offer. Also, the diversity of stalls: handmade silver jewellery, clothes and accessories from Nepal, professional henna artists and even psychic readings.

Camping and Glamping Options

There is no camping on site but many B&Bs, hotels and rooms within easy walking distance.

Past lineups

Primal Scream, Duran Duran, Craig David, Katie B, Public Enemy, Gaz Coombes. Fatboy Slim, Clean Bandit, Grace Jones, De La Soul.

Kids and families

Common People boasts having something for all ages. Aside from the huge bouncy castle, there are arts and crafts and trapeze workshops.

A touch of luxury

As there is no camping at this festival, why not treat yourself to a stay at one of Southampton's boutique hotels such as Ennio's Boutique Hotel?

Common People Southampton

Common People Southamption, a relation of Bestival, will hold its third edition over the May Bank Holiday weekend 2017. Set in the beautiful leafy Southampton Common, it has all the atmosphere of a rural festival but the convenience of being only 5 minutes from the town centre.

The festival arena is awash with colour and vibrancy and if 2015 and 2016 are anything to go by, then a fantastic time will be had by people of all ages and all tastes at Common People this summer.

Despite being a relatively young festival, Common People has already drawn some big headliners such as Primal Scream, Fatboy Slim and Duran Duran.

The fact that the curators of this festival are teamed up with Bestival's organisers means that you can be sure it's well produced and we're impressed, also, that the ticket prices are still very reasonable indeed. We also like the size of the arena: it's big enough, but not so big that it takes an age to get from stage to stage.
