Brainchild Festival is an 18 + event all about bringing together emerging artists and progressive ideas. It won the AIM's award for "Best Independent Festival" in 2015 and 2016, in recognition of the charm and uniqueness of this innovative and intimate festival. 2019 will see the 6th edition of Brainchild, with its excellent range of carefully selected acts, experiences and food and drink. There will be live music, DJs, speakers, artists, visual art, workshops, panel debates, films, theatre and plenty more.

This is a completely volunteer-led festival, built up by friends over the years and we think this makes it all the more special. The love and dedication which has gone into curating such a thought provoking lineup is all the more perceptible.

The site itself has an impressive range of areas from a shop with books, clothes, music and prints, a cinema, with shorts, documentaries and films to "The Forum", which is a space dedicated to openness and debate.

For the little kid within you, there is even a mini-railway which will take you on regualr trips around the festival site!

What we love about this festival.

The Forum - such a unique idea. There's always something different going on: spoken word, panel debates, yoga sessions, dance workshops, discussions of topics that move us the most and even drag kings.

Camping and Glamping Options

There are no VIP areas as the ethos of this festival is that artists, crew and festival goers all camp together. The campsite is big and right next to the festival arena, so no long trudges from your tent - hooray! No campervans or campfires permitted.

Past lineups

Matthew Halsall, Shabaka Hutchings, Stuart McCallum & Rioghnach Connolly.

A touch of luxury

Discovering new skills and ideas is surely a luxury we don't usually have the opportunity to afford ourselves in every day life.
