Big Family Festival is designed completely with children in mind. It was set up by Angela and George, a married couple with two daughters who were fed up with hunting around for things to do with their kids during the summer holidays. So, they decided to organise their own event; and what a success it has been. After its first year, Big Family Festival was shortlisted for two festival awards - Best Family Festival and Best New Festival. To be alongside some of the biggest and most established festivals at such a young age really is staggering.

The festival organisers want the weekend to encompass all aspects of children's entertainment in a festival setting, thus giving them an opportunity to sample the wonderful festival world and giving adults a chance to do what they know they already love doing. Another strong festival ethos is to use local businesses such as farmers' markets, food vendors and breweries, with a view to minimising its carbon footprint.

Over the weekend, you'll be able to sample live music from local bands and also tribute acts. But the main focus is the children's entertainment: magicians, clowns, drama and singing workshops by Razzamataz, dance workshops by Tin Man, craft workshops, book reading, circus skills, science shows and live comedy

What we love about this festival.

We love the fact that Angela Hopton, says "the best things in life aren't things". We couldn't agree more. This is a place where you can definitely make festival memories.

Camping and Glamping Options

There is plenty of camping at this event and pitches are allocated on arrival. There are good facilities. The site is tent only, but should you wish to bring a campervan or caravan, the festival organisers have an agreement with a local campsite. Email for more details.
